Properly training your dog will allow you to coexist with ease and become best pals. If your dog is trained well, then you should both know what is to be expected of the other. If you train your dog, you won't have to worry about what might happen when you leave the house. have guests, or walk him in the neighborhood. Training your dog may involve some hardship, but the end result will be a well-mannered, happy dog.
If you intend to use a crate in puppy training, make sure the crate is an appropriate size for your dog. Keep in mind that they get larger as they age. You must be able to accommodate the growth your puppy will experience as he ages. A larger crate allows for continued comfort and happiness. Generally speaking, your pet should be able to circle, sit and sleep without discomfort.
Give your dog a clear verbal cue that means “yes” to aid in training. “yes” is a great bridge word between the dogs positive accomplishment and the reward they receive.
Teaching dogs to roll over can be easy, provided some treats are on hand. Start by commanding the animal to lie down. Then, position a treat near the floor to one side of him, raise it up and move it over to the opposite side. He will follow the treat by rolling over. Say “roll over” as he performs the action so that he'll learn the command. It will take some work, but keep on trying!
You should always say commands in the same tone and volume. Your voice tone lets your dog know that you are serious and that you expect their obedience. Good consistent tones also let your dog know when tones are sharp for discipline or for a command that is not punishment.
